Cardiac Arrest Among Hospitalized Patients May Be Underestimated

Jul 16, 2019 - More patients may be suffering cardiac arrest in the while than previously believed. The health burden of in-hospital adult cardiac arrest is about 38% greater than earlier reports and 18% greater for children, according to one study. New research published in the American Heart Association Journal Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes, shows significantly more people's hearts are stopping.

The award is the highest recognition that can be given to an FAA-certified mechanic.

The UPK Program is a FREE 2 1/2-hour program, 5 days a week, offer morning and afternoon sessions from September to June that emphasizes readiness for kindergarten. Woodland Farm Brewery Highlights Barrel-Aging Program

Jul 16, 2019 - Woodland Farm Brewery has had a strong focus on their barrel-aging program since their inception. As their barrel collection has grown, they have been able to focus on long-term aging and are now producing barrel-aged beer. This past Saturday Woodland released a limited amount of bottles and draft Frige, which will be bottled later this summer. On August 3, Woodland will be re-releasing a limited amount of Oak LB Lives and Oak No Treason from their cellar collection.

High Coronary Artery Calcium Levels May Indicate Higher Risk For Future Heart Problems

Jul 8, 2019 - Higher coronary artery calcium levels in middle-age were associated with structural heart abnormalities linked to future heart failure, particularly among blacks, according to new research in Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging, an American Heart Association journal. Middle-aged patients with higher levels of coronary artery calcium buildup were more likely to have higher left ventricular mass and worse left ventricular function of the heart, particularly among blacks. Higher coronary artery calcium scores may be a marker for future heart failure.
