MVHS Foundation Women's Giving Circle To Hold Yoga Event For Women
The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Foundation Women’s Giving Circle is holding a Yoga for Women – Health, Fitness and Friendship event on Saturday, September 14, 2019. The event will take place at 9 a.m. at the Clinton Central School Performing Arts Theater, located at 75 Chenango Avenue North, Clinton, New York. The event is free and open to all women in the community interested in learning more about yoga and health.
Attendees are asked to sign up in advance and bring their own yoga mat. Refreshments will be served after the yoga session. Individuals attending may bring a new children’s book to help support families in the MVHS CenteringPregnancy® Program.
Participants will be led by a local certified Yoga Alliance teacher, Christina Buschmann, owner of Yoga Hot Spot, located in Waterville, New York. Buschmann will help attendees discover the tools to develop the habits they will need to improve daily patterns and ultimately, one’s life. The classes she teaches are based on the belief that mental and physical health are interrelated, and should be conditioned together. This session will coordinate breathing and physical movement, improve focus and concentration and help participants regain control of their body and mind.
“Striving to be healthy in mind, body and spirit has resonated through me for as long as I can remember,” said Buschmann. “Being able to help others of all ages and fitness abilities to achieve their fitness goals has been my passion. And what really caught my attention was Hatha Yoga; it is a self healing practice in which a person, with any body type or fitness level, can practice. That hit home with me. I strive to guide all who cross my path to find a way to be happy and healthy through a self-healing practice. My mantra is “Positive Mental Attitude” (PMA). I have been blessed in so many ways. I look forward to sharing my PMA with you!”
