Jul 19, 2017 - First-time champion Silas Kipruto, 32 years old from Kenya, took the title in the mens open division, finishing two seconds ahead of 2016 winner, Teshome Mekonen. On the womens side, 28-year old Mary Wacera from Kenya took first place, two seconds ahead of late addition Ruti Aga Sora from Ethiopia.

Children will be given a goodie bag and will play a 18 hole golf course. The 9th turn will feature hot dogs to enjoy, and all children will participate in a banquet at the end. There will be a special hole-in-one contest and the winner will receive a camping prize of a tent, sleeping bag, and lantern.

STATEMENT URGING GOVERNOR TO ENGAGE ASSEMBLY SPEAKER ON VERNON DOWNS RELIEF

Jul 13, 2017 - We appreciate the Governors attention, concern and expression of his willingness to support a relief package for the Vernon Downs racino in the Mohawk Valley. We have already spoken with the Governors staff and legislative leaders to express the urgency of this matter, and the Senate has passed a bill that was acceptable to the management of Vernon Downs and agreed to by the Executive. We are now urging the Governor to personally contact the Speaker to convince the Assembly to do the right thing and save 300 jobs of upstate workers whose futures are on the line.
