Health Insurance – Members have access to several exclusive Health Insurance options.


Energy Savings – Through our exclusive relationship with Integrys Energy Services of New York, Chamber members are eligible to receive reduced electrical rates.


Business Referrals – The Chamber receives hundreds of emails, phone calls and walk-ins requesting specific information regarding the goods and services of our local area providers. We only refer chamber members! Thousands of individuals each month are actively seeking information about the Mohawk Valley via our website. We continually refer our website to the public and only Chamber members are listed in our Who’s Who In Business Membership Directory and in the website directory.


Legislative Advocacy – The Chamber studies and advocates for change with regard to City, County, State, and Federal issues that may impact our area businesses. Additionally, member businesses that need an advocate may work with the Board of Directors to request official Chamber support via letter or attendance at a hearing. The Chamber represents your concerns in organizations such as Chamber Alliance of New York State, Business Council of New York State, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, CenterState Chamber Alliance and Oneida County Tourism, to name a few.


Education and Training – The Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly business seminars and workshops designed to educate business leaders and their employees in a variety of topics ranging from finance to customer service to internet commerce.


www.greateruticachamber.org features up-to-date information about the Chamber, our members and the region. The Chamber events calendar encompasses Chamber, business and community events.  The site includes a membership directory with maps, hyperlinks and descriptions about member businesses and organizations. The site offers linked banner advertising to members.

Week In Action E-Newsletter – Weekly e-newsletter sent every Monday through Constant Contact keeping readers up-to-date on Chamber news and upcoming events and activities. When applicable, html links are embedded within the newsletter for direct access to event pages, emails, etc. The Week In Action includes electronic flyers, with links, as advertising opportunities for members.


Chamber Advocate – The Chamber Advocate e-newsletter reports on actions taken in our Government Affairs and Economic Development Council and any resolutions approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.


Business After Hours (BAH) – Each month the Chamber hosts a monthly Business After Hours where participants have an opportunity to meet and speak with local business leaders, government officials and network with member businesses, in the Mohawk Valley and Utica area, that share similar interests. Hosted by a Chamber member, the monthly BAH is an excellent opportunity to showcase their business or organization. This networking opportunity is open to members and not-yet members.


Special Events – In addition to the Business After Hours networking opportunities, there are many other events throughout the year such as the Business Person of the Year and Business of the Year awards, Community Business Expo, the region’s leading business expo, the Choo-Choo for Charity Golf Tournament, Chamber Clambake and the Gore Mountain Ski Trip along with other activities of the Chamber.


Sponsorship Opportunities – Every event needs sponsorship and our sponsors get noticed! The Chamber appreciates sponsors and we do everything we can to let the business community know who is involved.


Ribbon Cuttings and Ground Breakings – Two of the Chamber’s leading means of public relations are ribbon cuttings and ground breakings. These events are covered in the Chamber’s newsletters, website and through social media. Ribbon cuttings and ground breakings occur for new member businesses, new locations, new additions, or special events. Each business is given a plaque commemorating their individual special event. The local media and local dignitaries are notified of these events as they occur. The publicity of ribbon cuttings and ground breakings provides member businesses additional marketing opportunities. These highly visible activities are attended by Chamber Ambassadors and staff.
